If you are thinking about investing in a bicycle soon, it's important that you know what type of bicycle is going to be best for you and what you plan on using it for. This way, when you go to a bicycle shop to choose a bicycle, you know which bikes specifically to look at. This is going to save you time and ensure that you leave with the right bike. Here are four types of bicycles to consider:
- Mountain Bikes: Mountain bikes are one of the most expensive types of bikes, but for good reason. If you plan on riding through rugged bicycle trails, then a mountain bike is going to be durable enough for you to get through that rugged terrain. The frame of the bike is much stronger, which ensures that it does not break easily when met with a rough compact. If you were to fall, your bike is much more likely to withstand the impact. The shock absorption is also great for riding on rough trails. You won't feel the force as much, the seat is more comfortable, and the gears are adjustable so that you can go up hills much easier, as well.
- Trail Bikes: Comparable to mountain bikes, trail bikes can handle rugged terrain, but they are much less expensive and not meant for riding through mountains, but more of a steady, smooth trail. This type of bike would be a great purchase if you plan on casually riding your bicycle instead of riding through mountainous terrain.
- Comfort Bikes: Comfort bikes are more affordable, as well and are meant for casual bike riders. This is especially true for bike riders who have lower back problems. Comfort bikes are designed specifically to be comfortable for the rider. The seat is more comfortable and the distance that comes between the handlebars and the seat is meant to keep you in an upright position so your bike does not experience any pain.
- Road Bikes: If you plan on riding your bike on the road to get to places, then this is the right bike for you. These bikes are light, which makes them faster, thus allowing you to keep up as best you can with the traffic on the road and to get to your specific destination quickly. The tires are also a lot smaller and smooth for riding on the pavement of the road. While these bikes are about as expensive as mountain bikes, you should definitely consider this option for the best bike for commuting.
When you know what types of bikes to choose from, purchasing a bike from a bicycle shop (such as Sarasota Cyclery Inc) is going to be much easier because you will know exactly what type of features you need to have based on how you will be using the bike.Share
